List of Search Engines: Why You Should Add Scour to Your List of Search Engines

Michael Grisso
Anytime you're looking for a list of search engines, Google, Yahoo and MSN end up being your top three. Over the years these companies have spent millions upon millions of dollars trying to counteract all the loopholes people use to make money. The only problem is another issue arises soon thereafter. It's an ongoing battle, but the use of the Scour search engine may change it over time.

Working Together

One of the main benefits to the Scour search engine is the ability for all of us to work together. After looking through a long list of search engines, there really isn't anything else out there. The whole concept is to search for everything you do now and comment or vote on those sites. Now, we're not talking about ESPN, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Myspace, or Twitter (even though you can), but more like those sites where you're looking for information.

Let's say you're looking for a free download and you decide to use the Scour site instead of the other list of search engines. Here you will be able to go down the list, choose one that offers what you're looking for, and click on the link. However when you're finished, you can hit the back button and return to the link to leave a comment about your experience. The next time another user visits the Scour site and looks for the same downloads, they'll be able to read your evaluation.

Using the Human Element with Voting

While commenting on websites you visit is important, it's only the beginning to how Scour is going to change the landscape of those others on your list of search engines. Scour also allows you to vote on those same websites you visit. Eventually when enough people take advantage of the system, those same sites will move up the results list. This way when you type in keywords, the options that come up are more relevant to your searches.

You can probably see the benefits already, but another feature often overlooked is the time you will save trying to find the information needed. Just keep in mind you will also be able to submit a bad vote for those sites that don't accurately pertain to the keywords or phrases you were looking for. How many companies on your list of search engines can do this today?

Rewarding You for Your Efforts

Even though the benefits of using the Scour site are enough to make everyone happy, they do have a reward program for doing your part. Everything is based off of a points system and the more points you have the more money they give you. However, when you look it over you'll notice that everything is paid out in gift cards. At first glance this looks like it wouldn't be worth it. Then again, when you see the Visa logo it's easy to throw those thoughts out the window.

Still Getting Google, Yahoo, and MSN

Probably the best part about this is you will be able to view the searches for Google, Yahoo and MSN right on Scour. This way you don't have to make your way through that list of search engines when you can simply add the keywords to Scour and get results for all four simultaneously. Regardless, of the rewards and utilizing it to reach all for search engines, Scour is going to change the way Internet surfers use search engines, plain and simple. In the end, it all starts with us. Are you ready to do your part and Scour?

Hey I wanted to ask you about that forum where you sell your articles for WoW. Do you get good responses and offers? yea, really depends on the search. Eventually I would imagine they will all be good.

I like it so far. It actually pulled up more relevant sites than some other of the larger search engines. I am always up for new things. We shall see. :)

Yea, pretty cool. It still has some flaws, but being in the Beta stage it doesn't surprise me.
