Listening with the Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones

I saw the Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones online and have to admit the orange and pink colors were a bit of a turnoff at first. I discovered that the colors were actually meant to appeal to the ladies. Still, I decided to find out where I could actually listen to a set, as I had read they produced good quality sound.

I found them at a Best Buy for $69.99. I was able to try them on, and I have to admit the sound is first class. I also found they had them in light blue headbands with green headphone pads.

I bought two pairs of the Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones, because after seeing them and listening to them in the store, I decided the orange and pink were not that bad. (They really look better in person than they do in the online pictures)I still got the blue and green ones though.

I listened to various types of music with the Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones. I tried listening to classic rock and found that the bass, and midrange sounds came through fine. I have listened to other headphones that tended to cause higher pitches such as electric guitar sound distorted. The Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones did not have this problem. Nor did the bass sound fuzzy at all.

I also tried listening to classical music with the Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones and could actually hear the difference between each woodwind instrument and hear individual stringed instruments.

The Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones are really topnotch. The do not have any noise cancelling capability, Noise cancellation has its uses, but this is not a deal breaker for me. The padding of the Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones is lightweight, and is very comfortable. I was able to wear these headphones for several hours and never noticed that I had them on. I am the type of person who has to have over the ears type of headphones. My ears are sensitive, so the modern ear buds and I just do not get along.

The Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones also come with a carrying case, which seems superfluous to me. I bought these to be used at home. I generally do not carry my headphones around with me, but I suppose it might come in handy for someone.

The Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones comes with a 1 year warranty on parts and labor.They are very well made, so I have my doubts about thewarranty being a factor, but it is nice to know it's there.

Colors notwithstanding, the Roxy JBL Reference 430 Headphones are a great set of headphones, which get the job done.
