Listening to Silence

Kiyla had been in Faerie Meadows for almost three weeks now. This realm was certainly different compared to the human realm. The whole environment seemed fresher, not as dense. Although she had only been out during the nighttime, being a vampire, she would be a crispy critter if she went out during the day.

The other thing she was getting used to was the silence. It was so quiet. There were no motor vehicles in this realm. Everyone flew where they needed to go. Well, that is, except for outsiders like her and Patterson. They just had to walk everywhere. She and Patterson were only here for another week and then they would be going back to the human realm. When she went back to the human realm she would miss the silence and the peace. She was nowhere near as stressed as she had been when she had first come to Faerie Meadows.

It would be good when Moon Flyer started working in her gardens. Then maybe she would have a calming place of her own to go to and listen to the silence. It would be her place to relax and unwind, hopefully. Obviously it would need to be on a smaller scale. But it would be just as beautiful, just as calming.

"I must remember to talk to Moon Flyer about this, and see if she has any ideas on what else she can come up with." Kiyla mused aloud to herself. Something she had never done before, but then she had never been this relaxed before either.

"Talking to yourself again, Sis?" Patterson drawled as he quietly came up behind his sister. He was actually amused; she had never talked to herself before she met Moon Flyer, yet since being here he had caught her doing it more than once.

"Listening to the silence and making plans to get Moon Flyer to create my own garden of peace. Isn't it lovely; the silence?" Kiyla marveled, she still couldn't believe that the silence was relaxing ... she would have thought that it would be unnerving.

"Yeah, but to be honest, I can't wait until we get home. I miss the city. The hustle and bustle," Patterson confessed, as much as he too, had relaxed, he was ready to go home. They were just waiting for one of the faeries to port them.

"That's true. But it's been good, being able to unwind. Hopefully we will be able to come back again sometime."

They drifted into silence and both thought about home, and what might be happening there.
