Listing of County Fairs Throughout the State of Tennessee

Abby Greenhill
Most people enjoy spending time at a county fair. Whether you like the rides, the food, the games or just people watching, a county fair is a place you can find the action. Are you a pie maker, do you can your own veggies, or maybe make the best tomato sauce around? If so, you can enter your creations at your country fair and maybe take home a blue ribbon for your efforts.

It would be totally time consuming to re-create the lists with all the information regarding each fair that will be coming up in 2011 in the State of Tennessee. However, I found a fantastic website that contains all of that information in one place and you can save the site in your 'favorites' and go from there. These are annual events.

Tennesseefairs.com - a great resource:

The website, Tennesseefairs.com, is a wonderful resource and you can search the entire State or search by region (East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee or West Tennessee ). When you first enter the site you will see a listing of fairs by county. Just find the one you want to learn more about, click where it says 'website'. That will take you to the official website for that particular county fair. There you will find dates, times and all the information you need.

As an example I checked the Jefferson County Fair's website and found out the fair will be held July 28 through August 6. There are also photos from last year and other information regarding that county. I picked Jefferson County because a few years ago we lived in that county and my husband won a Blue Ribbon at the fair.

If you live in or near Tennessee , and you love to attend county fairs, then be sure to check out the website for dates and then plan your trip or vacation to Tennessee accordingly.

The State of Tennessee has a lot to offer and there is such beauty in the mountains, which is what draws many visitors to the area. Visit East Tennessee and go to a county fair, Dollywood or one of the many other tourist attractions such as the Country Tonite Theater or spend some time and money at one of the many outlet malls. If you head to Nashville for some toe tappin' country music at the Grand Ole Opry or check out some of the great restaurants in downtown. If you prefer, check out West Tennessee and Graceland . Everywhere you look in Tennessee you will see majestic mountains, fantastic scenery and friendly folks.

The Tennesseefairs.com website can be used year after year to locate fairs throughout Tennessee. You may find that one trip to a fair gets you hooked and you will come back again and again.

NOT A GUEST - Great information. Sounds like fun all over the place. In Australia we call them "Shows" and each capital city has its own "Exhibition". My Dad used to love watching the wood-chopping. Now my brother does that.

I grew up in the Yakima Valley area of Washington State. Every year we had the Central Washington State Fair. We never missed it. What memories!
