Why I Think This is One of the Best Litterboxes Available for Rabbits
This is really a wonderful litterbox. It comes in a couple different sizes, ranging from very tiny (more for guinea pigs than rabbits) to large enough for a medium to large sized rabbit. The great thing about the high corner, is that it allows you to place the litterbox in a corner of the cage. This litterbox takes up much less space than most, giving your rabbit more cage or pen space to hop around in. Of course, my favorite feature is the high back that prevents accidents do to overshooting the litterbox or backing up too far. It's pretty difficult for the rabbit to mess up with this litterbox. They'll back into the corner generally, but even if they don't get into the corner exactly, they're not likely to miss the box. The high corner is fantastic for difficult to litter train rabbits especially. When my rabbit came to me, he was already four years old and had lived outside his whole life. He had never used a litterbox before. However, he quickly caught on with the hi-corner litter pan and has now been a house rabbit for about seven years. Since this litterbox is also very easy to clean, I've still never had to buy him another one.
Problems with This Litterbox
Unfortunately, this litterbox isn't perfect. It's not offered in a large enough size to accommodate a very large rabbit, such as a flemish giant. You might be able to get them to back into it, but probably not comfortably. While the box is certainly much sturdier than a lot of litterboxes out there, the high corner can make it easy for some rabbits to flip over. If you have this problem however, you can drill holes in the top of the plastic on the high corner section and attach the box to the cage or pen with cable ties or house wire.
Aside from the few problems with this box, I'd recommend it for nearly all rabbits and especially those who have trouble with the traditional cat litter pan. If you're about to give up on litterbox training your bunny, try the hi-corner litter pan. This litterbox is a bit more expensive than some of the others, but it's well made and will last you for years to come. If you're looking to adopt a rabbit and still haven't decided on the litterbox, I'd recommend this one.

Post a CommentGreat information. I have a dwarf rabbit myself and he is a great little guy.
This is great! I had a dwarf bunny that would spray out of the cage all the time, I had no idea about this. I only had the bunny for a month before I found him a home that had a large back yard and a bigger house than my small apartment. Great article.
