Little Bear Go Brightly

A Poem: My Mother's Words to Me

Christian K. Martinez
Little bear bear go brightly,
You must stand,
Iknow your afraid now,
Don't think your a man

I want you to trust me,
Even though I've gone away,
I want you to know me,
And remember what I'd say.

I want you to travel,
And see the world,
I want you to love deep,
And see your soul unfurled.

I want you to dance in the rain,
And lay on the floor,
I want you to laugh at the pain,
Till you can't feel t anymore.

Little bear go brightly
You must stand
I know your afraid now,
Don't feel your a man

I wan you to do things
And do them right
Don't let your worries
Cloud your sight

I'm gone away now
After a long long fight
I'm sorry I can't visit
It's a one way flight

Please don't forget me,
Nor what I lived for,
Please don't forfeit me,
Nor how I died.

Little bear go brightly,
You must stand,
I know your afraid now,
Don't think your a man.

But I've been watching,
From my new TV,
I want you to know now,
I'm proud of what I see

You need to stand now
For your sister and father
I know you know how
To soldier on

You need to stand now
For your own damn good
I know you know how
You've always understood

That pain is a blessing
Let's you know your alive
So forgive me for moving on
And know that for you-I've always strived.

To teach you lessons,
To be good,loving and kind,
To let you see yourself,
And free your mind.

Your a good boy,
And a fine young man,
Feel sorrow, find joy,
And do good things when you can.

Little bear go brightly,
Time for you to stand,
Don't be afraid now,
Your a fine young man.
