Little Kids Game Ideas for a Halloween Party (part 2)

TommiH
What Halloween party is good without unique and exciting games for the kids to play? None! If you want to throw a Halloween party this year for little kids, you have come to the right place. I have great game ideas that will keep the children busy with laughs all night long.

Face painting:

Who does not like face painting? Face painting is very appropriate for a Halloween party because it is all about dressing up and having fun. Paint on some cat whiskers or maybe a clown face. Just have fun with it!

Pie eating contest:

You can go out and get a couple pies. Since these are little kids, you do not want to give them a whole pie. They will be pinging off the walls all night long so avoid doing this! But you can give them a slice of pie and hold the contest that way. The winner receives a prize.

Ghost in the graveyard:

This is a great game! I love it. I remember playing this even when I was 16 years old. You will need to play this game at night. Get the group of kids together. Have one child be the ghost. The ghost is the one who hides in the yard. The remaining kids are the ones that will be running form the ghost.

Have bases set up in the backyard. You will need four bases. You can make a shed a base, a tree a base, a trampoline a base, etc. But when the people are by the base, the ghost cannot get them.

All the children will start out on a deck or patio. They will all count to 15 and let the ghost go hide in the backyard somewhere. The children must face away from the ghost as he/she hides. The children count to 15 and when they hit 15 they all yell "Starlight, moonlight, let's see the ghost tonight" and run for the first base.

The ghost is supposed to try to tap people while they are running to the bases, but cannot tap them while on a base. Anyone who is tapped by the ghost becomes a ghost. The children are to keep running to the bases until there is only one person left. The last person who is not a ghost wins!

Spooky treasure box;

Do you know the stuff used to stuff packaging boxes with? You will need packaging popcorn and a box to use for the treasure box. It needs to be big enough that you can hide prizes and goodies in it. If you would like to be really creative, you can go to a craft store and get a small coffin and use that. Fill it full of toys and candy and then put in the packaging popcorn to cover all the good stuff and stir it around.

Each child gets a turn at reaching into the treasure box and getting a treat. They get to feel all around until they get a prize of some sort.

Hit Frankenstein!:

This game is a blast! You have an adult dress up as Frankenstein and you will need a big piece of cardboard with four face size circles cut into it. Frankenstein hides behind the cardboard and pops his face up to a face hole every now and then.

The kids have to stand behind a line that is about 10 feet away from the cardboard. Give each child 5 water balloons. When it is their turn, the child steps up to the line and tries to hit Frankenstein with his/her water balloons each time Frankenstein's face appears at a hole.

The children who succeed in hitting Frankenstein can get a small prize.
