Story
Little King's Story features a fairly tale story. You play as a shy boy who mysterious ended up in a mysterious forest. After locating a crown with magical powers, he gained the ability to command others. Thus, he is the new king of the desolated kingdom of Alpoko. It is up to you to bring your subjects into prosperity.
Graphics
The art style of Little King's Story resembles the one found in the Harvest Moon series. This shouldn't be all that surprising considering that the executive producer of Little King's Story, Yasuhiro Wada, is also responsible for creating the Harvest Moon series. While the graphics aren't pushing the Nintendo Wii, they do fit into the charming and colorful nature of Little King's Story.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Little King's Story is spilt into two segments: building and exploration.
As king, you don't need to manually rebuild your kingdom or fight deadly monsters. Instead, you can command your subjects to do so. It is similar in style to the Pikmin series on the Gamecube and Nintendo Wii. Your subjects have different jobs that will accommodate your orders. For example, a soldier will help you on the battlefield while the carpenter is better suited for building new houses. Make sure you handle your subjects with care, however, as they will permanently die when defeated.
You must build your kingdom up from nothing into prominence. To do so, you command your subjects to farm the land, build houses and more. Furthermore, you must keep you subjects happy by talking to them and granting their requests.
In Little King's Story, you must also go outside your kingdom to search for treasures and battle other kingdoms. Several dangerous enemies and bosses in the battlefield will challenge your ability to lead a small army.
Finally, it wouldn't feel complete in Little King's Story without a queen. You can fall in love with numerous princesses in this Nintendo Wii exclusive title.
Final Product
Little King's Story is shaping up to be one of the best games on the system. Make sure you don't miss out on this sure-fire hit when it comes out in July exclusively for the Nintendo Wii.
