Kate Bosworth will soon hit theaters with the thriller Straw Dogs. In the film, she and her husband (played by actor James Marsden) get into a conflict with the locals after moving to a new town. Here are some little known facts about the Straw Dogs star:

Blue Crush: Kate Bosworth had never surfed before filming the surfing themed movie Blue Crush. And she hasn't kept up with surfing since then. The actress told Ask Men magazine that she always feels as if she is disappointing her fans of Blue Crush when they learn she doesn't really surf.

Kate Bosworth quote: "I'm known to be a bit mischievous in my life but not that mischievous". Her response to Jimmy Kimmel jokingly asking if she was responsible for war breaking out in South Korea.

The Warrior's Way: She worked with the "Brad Pitt of Korea", actor Dong-gun Jang, for her film The Warrior's Way. On doing martial arts in the film, the actress says "it's not just slashing each other with sharp objects, it's very sort of poetic."

First role: Her first acting role was as "student in background #7" on the TV show 7th Heaven.

Young Americans: Before starring in the film Blue Crush, she was on a short-lived teen drama called Young Americans with other actors who went on to success such as Katherine Moenning (The L Word), Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife), and Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries, Lost).

Beyond the Sea:
The actress didn't know who Bobby Darrin was before co-starring in the Bobby Darrin bio-pic Beyond the Sea.

"Oh my god, what have I gotten myself into?" Her thought during the process of getting her first film role in The Horse Whisperer after just tagging along with her friends to an audition.
