Finding Nemo is a great movie without knowing any trivia about the film. However, it is even more interesting when trivia about the film is known.

The Nine Boats in the Sydney Harbor Have Names

Each of the nine boats in the Sydney Harbor have names. Four of them are naval puns. These are Sea Monkey, Knottie Buoy, Pier Pressure and Bow Movement. One of them is a pun on technology current during the making of the movie. It is iBoat. One of them is a reference to something found in writing or a movies. It is Major Plot Point. Three of them are references to other Disney shorts or movies. They are For the Birds, Skiff-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, and The Surly Mermaid. All of the names of the boats are puns.

Pixar is known for creating their characters early and introducing at least one in the movie before the next release. The character of Nemo was first seen on the couch in Boo's room. It was one of her toys.

Finding Nemo had a preview of both Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles and Luigi from Cars .

The Dentist's Waiting Room is a Real Waiting Room

So, the waiting room isn't technically real. However, it isn't laughable about how it looks like many of the waiting rooms in movies and especially in animated movies. This is because the waiting room in the dentist's office is modeled after a real waiting room of a dentist's office in Emeryville, CA. Emeryville, CA is where the Pixar Studios are located.

Dory Calls Nemo Five Wrong Names All Ending in O.

Dory (whose voice is provided by Ellen DeGeneres), calls Nemo wrong names while talking to Martin and some of the other fish. There are a total of six wrong names. All of the names and in O and they are either names of characters that already exist in culture or real names of people. These names are Bingo, Harpo, Fabio, Elmo, and Chico.

The Hour Long Pitch Could've Taken One Minute

Andrew Stanton pitched his idea to John Lassater. Stanton used many different visual aids and different voices. He exhausted himself giving an hour long pitch. Once the pitch was finished and Lassater was asked what he thought, he told Stanton, "You had me at fish."
