Many people think of coffee not being good for us, but coffee does carry some health benefits. While many drink coffee to help them stay awake and keep us alert others may drink it for these little known benefits to their health.

Brain Function: Coffee is a stimulant and can help raise your brain functionality. What does this exactly mean? It means one can possibly have better memory recall, an improved cognitive ability and better logic comprehension. According to Science Daily an Austrian study has shown that coffee can even improve one's short term memory.

Parkinson's disease: While two studies where done on Parkinson one revealed that heavy coffee drinkers were less likely to develop Parkinson's disease over those who do not consume coffee.

Antioxidants: We here all about the need for antioxidants. Well mark coffee down as coffee is a natural antioxidant. Antioxidants help to keep your blood clean, this then helps prevent heart disease and high blood pressure.

Weight Loss: Coffee helps motivate your metabolism and assists in burning calories. Coffee is naturally low in calories as long as you're not loading it with sugar and cream. Coffee also works as a natural diuretic to help you shed water weight.

Cancer: Harvard Medical School published a study in the Harvard Health Publications stating that studies have shown that coffee drinkers are less likely to suffer from cancer, this study states people up to 50 percent are less likely.

Medications: Caffeine is added to different types of medications including but not limited to asthma medications and migraine medications. Caffeine has been known to help with the symptoms of these disorders.

This is not to be mistake over the fact that coffee also has some negative health benefits. The key is to drink coffee in moderation and not to overdue to the additives such as creamers and sugar. A moderate drinker of coffee can assist in lowering the chances of certain disorders or help the symptoms of others. Not to mention that without even mentioning studies, coffee helps improve happiness and well-being in most coffee drinkers.

So now what does this mean? It means coffee drinkers who love to consume coffee at a moderate level have some fighting power when someone tells them that coffee is unhealthy and they should not be consuming it.
