Little-Known Astrologer Makes Oscar Predictions

"I see a mix of shoo-ins and upsets in the announcements of the Oscar winners March 7," she said. "While Avatar and Jeff Bridges seem to be safe bets, other categories are less clear," she stated in an email interview with me.

Her technique starts with an astrology chart for the start of the event, plus a hunt for the dates of birth for as many of the nominees as she can find. I asked her how easy or hard it was to find dates of birth of celebrities.

"The internet has been a real boon when it comes to finding birth dates for celebrities. All I have to do is Google. And I can usually find a reliable start date for an event, plus something about the nominees, who is favored, that kind of stuff," she explained.

What do you look for once you have made a chart for the nominee, I inquired. "After that it gets tricky. Someone may have a great Jupiter contact, but it just means that they are generous or in a great mood. For this event I am focusing on Mercury, because the winner has to make a speech. As you might already know, Mercury rules communications of all kinds," she explained.

So what are the upsets you predict for this year's Oscar?

"I really do not see Mo'nique winning for Precious, even though she is highly favored. I do not see her Mercury activated, although her Venus and Jupiter make aspects to Pluto. This nomination could bring her more power to bring her own future projects together. But I think that Penelope Cruz has an excellent chart to get the coveted Oscar. Her Moon makes aspects to the Venus-Mars trine, and her Jupiter is conjunct the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction which is exact on Oscar night!"

The Supporting Actor category is also up for grabs, according to MWM. Waltz is heavily favored for his role in Quentin Tarantino's film, Inglourious Basterds. But MWM says that while his North Node and Jupiter get some very good contacts, Mercury again is silent.

So who do you think might win it, Milky Way Maid?

"I think that Woody Harrelson has an excellent chance to upset in this category. His Mercury is exactly trine the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction, so he may not only make a speech but make a rather long speech. His Jupiter is trine Saturn, increasing the chances he will receive an honor for his acting talent. And his Sun is conjunct transiting Mars and trine Venus. Those two planets make an exact trine earlier that day. All in all, I think his chart looks formidable," she declared.
