Live Christmas Tree Vs. Artificial Christmas Tree

What Christmas Tree is Perfect for Your Household?

Households come alive when your festive decorations emerge, especially when your personal Christmas tree shimmers to life.

For those of us that celebrate Christmas, we all know that a tree is one of the most crucial parts of celebrating the Christmas holiday.

Some say a live Christmas tree keeps their holiday tradition alive, while others insist an artificial tree is more convenient and shopper savvy. In reality, it is your personal preference which will decide what kind of tree ends up in your living room.

Live Christmas Trees

Real Christmas trees smell wonderful and give off a Christmas presence. Families with these trees generally partake in an annual tradition of picking out a fresh Christmas tree from a tree farm. They wander through the snow to find their perfect tree to bring home.

Like every tradition tree, decorations are in order. But decorating a live tree could be a bit of a mess. They shed their needles and their pine sap will get everywhere. Be extra careful when decorating with sentimental ornaments. These beautiful Christmas trees are messy and may be more work than an artificial tree, but they spread Christmas cheer through their smell, beauty, and life. If you like the sound of celebrating the holidays with a live tree, then these fresh scented trees will be a perfect fit for your household. Traditional live Christmas trees cost anywhere from $50 to a couple of hundred dollars each year. Check online for a local tree farm.

Artificial Christmas Trees

If you are trying to save money but still want to have a Christmas tree tradition, I would recommend an artificial tree.

An artificial tree will not give off sap samples or the smell of a forest, but they can still hold traditions. Artificial trees have to be put together. Get your household, friends, and family to come together to build your Christmas tree. Just like live trees, they have to be decorated. Decorations will help keep traditions alive. Create a new tree tradition, especially if you are switching to an artificial one. Plan a family ornament decorating activity, so you can keep those keepsakes for years to come.

Fake trees will also share similar qualities as a live tree. They shed their needles, which can make a mess. The mess does not include sticky sap, so it will be less of a hassle to clean up. Make sure you have a place to store your tree for the year. A shed or attic could make a perfect hideaway. If you cannot handle a Christmas tree without the fresh pine needle scent, you can always buy a room freshener that smells like pine trees. Check Bath and Body works. Artificial trees are more expensive, but last for many years. Prices can start as low as $70 to hundreds of dollars.

Whichever one you prefer is your choice. If you prefer the tradition of buying a live tree every year, do so. If you are looking for an easy housekeeping tree, I would suggest an artificial one. The main tradition of Christmas decorations is actually having a tree.
