You may wonder why I am posting now on April 9th about my live blogging of the 2010 NFL draft, on April 22nd. I am simply trying to get the word out to my usual readers and hopefully get ranked in the search engines so people can find me on draft day 2010. Go to the bottom of this page to where you see page comments. This article is being updated live with the newest stuff going to the the comments section. It is taking me too long to update it via editing this article.
I do plenty of football writing here at Associatedcontent.com, the site I run, Footballdogz.com and as a sports columnist for the Claremont Courier in North Carolina. You check out my latest 2010 NFL mock draft with this link. If you want to see how I ranked the 2010 quarterbacks in the draft then click here.
This year the NFL draft is doing something new as they move to prime time for the first time. Both the NFL network and ESPN will be covering the 2010 NFL draft at 7:30 pm on Thursday April 22nd. That is awesome for me as I work on Saturdays and always miss most of the draft, but will be watching it this year.
In my live blogging of the 2010 NFL draft I will be welcoming comments, some of which I will post in the article. I will also reply to all comments made while I am live blogging for the draft.
If you are an AC sports writer please by all means post some comments below when the draft starts and I will try to send you some hits to your AC articles. People who run other sites about football can post a link in the comments if you also make a pertinent comment, and I won't delete it.
Just remember to save the link to this article to read my live coverage of the 2010 NFL draft here on Associatedconten.com. I will be updating this article as the draft begins so this link will be where my commentary will take place. And since I think Sam Bradford will be taken number one, you can click this link to see how other QB's who were number one picks worked out.

Whenever you see the line marked "BREAK" as above then I have added some new content to my live blogging of the 2010 NFL draft. I am here and ready to start blogging and have invited some of Associatedcontent.com's best sports writers to make a few comments as the draft happens. I will do some brief updates in the comments section but most will be added to the main text at this link. Click here to see my mock draft round one and two which was written a couple of days ago and is my most recent.

Profootballtalk.com is reporting that the Browns may make a Ricky Williams like trade offer to the Rams for the rights to draft Sam Bradford. For more on the Ricky Williams trade and the top 5 shockers on draft day, then click this link.
I heard on WFNZ earlier that Bradford may not want to play for the Rams anyway. I smell a trade of some sort since the Rams never made a serious attempt to sign Sam Bradford before the 2010 NFL draft.
Some other possible draft day trades could be Greg Olsen the Bears tight end who does not fit the offense that Mike Martz is installing. The Cowboys may be shopping Marion Barber and the Steelers may be looking to upgrade their running game. It is possible the Carolina Panthers will trade into the first round by trading DeAngelo Williams.
BREAK
The St. Louis Rams have drafted Sam Bradford the quarterback from Oklahoma with the first pick of the 2010 NFL draft. Now the Rams need to get some offensive linemen and wide receivers to help Sam Bradford out. Rumors of a Bradford trade to the Browns were false but we may never now how close it came to going down.
My fear for Sam Bradford as the first pick in the 2010 NFL draft is that he will be thrown to the wolves. Currently on the Rams Roster there is A.J. Feely Keith Null, and Mike Reilly, not exactly the cream of the NFL crop of quarterbacks. I am concerned that when the Rams suck right out of the gate that the pressure to play Bradford early will get too much and the team will ruin him. Bradford has a steep learning curve from playing in a spread offense and going to a pro set.
Stephen Jackson becomes even more important for the Rams with a young quarterback. Jackson will have even more touches than ever while Bradford learns on the job as the Rams quarterback. Once again Sam Bradford has been the first player taken in the 2010 NFL draft by the Rams.
BREAK
AC's Sports Contributor David Funk points out in the comments that Bradford He's the 18th Heisman Trophy winner to be the No. 1 overall pick and the 27th quarterback to go first. This is the third Sooner to go first overall. To see David's articles click this link.
The Detroit Lions have selected the best player in the 2010 NFL draft. Ndamukong Suh DT- Nebraska is now a Detroit Lion. I really thought the Lions may go offensive line. But Ndamukong Suh must have been too much to pass up.
Suh immediately makes the Lions defense better with his strength size and technique. He is the most advanced college defensive lineman with his technique that I have ever seen. Kyle Vaden Bosch is smiling.
BREAK
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected Gerald McCoy with the 3rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft. He is thought to be more of a pass rusher than Suh but not as strong by far. The Buccaneers have been trying to replace Warren Sapp for years and may have with the selection of Gerald McCoy from Oklahoma. McCoy will be playing in the Tampa Bay 4-3 defense and should be a starter from day one.
Now the Washington Redskins are on the clock. Will they go with Russell Okrung? I think so at least an offensive lineman in my book.
BREAK
The Washington Redskins have indeed went offensive tackle but it was Trent Williams from Oklahoma which shows how good the NFL scouts thought that team was. Trent Williams is an athletic offensive tackle and should flourish with the Mike Shanahan offense. Three Oklahoma Sooners have been selected in the first four picks of the 2010 NFL draft!
Kansas City is on the clock and as a Chiefs fan I want them to draft Russell Okrung. Either he or the Tennessee safety Eric Berry should be the pick.
BREAK
The Kansas City Chiefs have selected Tennessee Safety Eric Berry with the 5th pick of the 2010 NFL draft. Berry adds some ball skills to a bad Chiefs secondary and while he isn't the offensive lineman I wanted, I can't complain. Eric Berry may be to the Chiefs what Ed Reed, Bob Sanders and other great safeties bring to their NFL teams.
BREAK
With the 6th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Seattle Seahawks have selected Russell Okrung the offensive tackle from Oklahoma State. At 6ft 5 inches tall and over 300 pounds, Okrung will help a Seahawks team with an old and tired offensive line. Maybe now the Seahawks will draft a running back for Okrung to block for.
The Browns are on the clock and I expect Jimmy Clausen to go here.
If you are following this, I am now going to post updates in the comments. It is taking me too long to edit the article.

I pull for the Chiefs and Panthers who pick sometme next year I think.
I wanted Okrung but I guess Phillip Rivers isn't happy that the Chiefs took Berry.
I like the selection of Berry. He should help slow down some of the pass happy teams in the AFC by making some big plays.
Yeah I think both teams did well. Not sure about my Chiefs yet.
Overall I am pleased with the Dolphins making the move for Jared. The Lions impressed me by showing they had the guts to go for Best.
I heard they were going to run the Wishbone on offense lol.
The Saints pick Patrick Robinson from Florida State. Robinson is fast enough but he needs to keep his head in the game. Not a bad pick adding a decent cornerback to the NFL Super Bowl champions.
Oh I know, but still they need help on offense. Maybe he is going to use a 4-2-5 formation for his defense.
Ryan thinks enough defense will negate a weak offense. Remember who his daddy is.
