'Live to Dance': Last Semifinals with Twitch in Finals and Judge's Choice was Dance Town Chaos

Is it the Tap Dancing Duo or the Tumbling Kids of Shore Thing Who Make it Through to the Finals?

Up against a titanic show on a competitive network Paula Abdul is all too familiar with I managed to watch Wednesday night's "Live to Dance." It winded down the semifinal portion of this competition. Now two more weeks and we'll find out the winner. It was an interesting show featuring an old school form of dance, tap. Like last week's show featured classical ballet I was happy to see some tap dancing for a change. There were a number of tween dancers this week. With this episode no dance act received all red stars from the judges. Twitch was announced as the viewer's choice from last week.

1.) Dance Town Chaos

We did not see them a lot during the auditions, but this group of 12 men from Miami who have been together for nine years performed their hearts out to "It's a Man's Man's Man's World." All of them were tight, synchronized and in top form with their various stunts, props and moves. I liked what they did with a big flag. That was amazing. The judges thought so too and awarded them three gold stars.

2.) Jill and Jacob

Unfortunately they were not as captivating this time. Their audition made me a fan of theirs, but somehow this couple fell short when they incorporated new moves, tricks and more hip hop instead of contemporary dance. I found it having more tumbling than dancing. I agreed when the judges gave them two red stars and only a gold star.

3.) Roosevelt Anderson

The one thing I loved most about his routine was the special effects of him walking in mid air, thanks to the aid of wires. That was simply stunning. Sadly, there was too much bone-breaking. That was extremely uncomfortable to watch. Travis and Paula give him gold stars while Kimberly gave him red.

4.) Tap Sounds Underground

Now here's one of my favorite acts I've been looking forward to seeing once again. Tap has always been my beloved form of dance. I liked how they tap danced on their sliding platform. It was an excellent routine where Travis and Paula gave them gold stars, but Kimberly was stingy and gave them red. That was not deserved.

5.) Shore Thing

For their audition they dressed up like ghouls, which wasn't a favorite of mine. This time in the semifinals they were more colorful and animated, which should always be for a children's dance act. It was theatrical with a lot of tumbling, which I felt was taking over the dancing. This group of 18 kids, all girls and one boy, received gold stars from the judges, but their praise wasn't that of perfection.

6.) Kendall Glover

She is very athletic in her dancing and the only female soloist of the night. I liked how they captured her in mid jump. Surprisingly she gets a red star from Travis while the other judges awarded her gold stars. Needless to say they were not happy with Travis' decision.

It didn't take long for the judges to decide on who will go to the finals. The crowd, their show-stopping performance and the triple threat of gold stars put Dance Town Chaos into next week's final dance show. My personal favorite, Tap Sounds Underground, is my choice. It is likely Shore Thing or Kendall Glover may be the viewer's choice. Stay tuned for next week's finals.
