Wednesday night on CBS' "Live To Dance," the subtle digs were in place as Paula Abdul and Co. were very much aware that her new dance show was competing directly with the "American Idol" premiere on a different network.

Host Andrew Ginsburg kicked off the show by making it clear, "Our auditions are over. We are LIVE."

Up first, Abdul and her team of judges -dance choreographers Kimberly Wyatt and Travis Payne- announced the dance act from last week that would move on to the finals.Viewers voted D'Angelo and Amanda as the 18th semifinalists. That meant it was the end of the road for Jittin' Genius, Chi-Town Finest Breakers, Austin Acevedo and Bev and Hap.

Next, it was time for six of the semifinalist acts to compete for a spot in the finals.

Mini break dancer Jalen wowed the judges with his head spins and Hammer-time moves, garnering three gold stars.

Dance in Flight started out dancing to the 'Pink panther" then pulled the ol' MC Skat Kat card when they segued into Abdul's old dance hit, "Opposites Attract."

Travis told the pair that they lost their luster, although he dug the MC Skat Kat part.

The remaining dance acts to perform were Dax and Sarah, Twitch, Du-Shaunt Stegall and White Tree Fine Art.

Although the vote was not unanimous, the judges decided to move husband and white ballet act White Tree Fine Art to the finals. Viewers will vote one of the remaining five acts from this week into the finals. The finalists will compete for the grand prize of $500,000.

I heard a lot of commotion last night, roaring laughter and screams from the girls. Went up to see what was going on (it takes a lot to get me off the couch!) and it was this show! Must be a corker!
