Transportation
We all know the damage that motor vehicles cause our planet and atmosphere. The solutions are simple.
1. Walk or Bike
If you live near a store or library, walk to it rather than taking the car. Save fuel, protect the planet and get some much needed exercise all in one!
2. Use Mass Transit/Carpool
If you live in a city, take advantage of the mass transit offered rather than driving your own car. Or, if your prefer, carpool with friends and co-workers.
Clothing
1. Buy Natural and Recycled Fibers
When you buy clothing, choose items made from natural and recycled fibers. For example, buy clothing made from cotton and wool. Also, choose your accessories in this manner.
2. Buy Second Hand
Earn "extra credit" buy purchasing your clothing made from natural and recycled fibers from thrift stores and garage sales. For career apparel, there are usually upscale consignment stores that you can choose from.
Recycle
Enough said! Take advantage of curbside and city-wide recycling programs!
Use LEDs
Save energy by using LEDs instead of incandescent lightbulbs. LEDs contain no lead or mercury. The generate only about 10% of the heat that incandescent lightbulbs do.
Go paperless
Whenever the opportunity is offered, choose to go paperless. Most banks and many retailers offer this option. Carry it further by communicating via email with friends and family rather than sending letters through the postal service.
I told you! These are simple and easy ways to make your lifestyle more eco-friendly! On top of that, each one can be incorporated into your newly eco-friendly way of living immediately! Don't delay. Start doing your part to save our planet now.
