LIVE with REGIS and KELLY

REGIS PHILBIN RETIRING

J.C. JORDAN
Totally surprising his viewers, Regis Philbinannounced today that he will be retiring from "Live with Regis and Kelly". The show originally featured Regis Philbin and KathieLeeGifford, wife of the famed Frank Giffordof football.

Regis has been a mainstay of morning viewers for 28 years. Regis also hosted for a time, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". We are now left to wonder if the show will continue, and if so, who will replace Regis. No doubt Kelly Ripa who has co-hosted with Regis since Kathy Lee's departure in 2001 isn't looking to end up on the unemployment lines.

Regis' reasons, he will be turning 80 years old in August and as he said "everything comes to an end".

There is a reason and a season gfor everything. It's great that he realizes when his reason and season is ending!

There has been a rumor floating around for some years that Regis actually passed away about ten years ago and that the presentation of him we see on TV is an animated wax figure. The batteries are still running!

I predict that Kelly and her husband will take over the show.
