Dancing with the Stars Has Made a Huge Impact on Former Contestants' Lives

Over the years, contestants who have appeared on "Dancing with the Stars" have had their lives changed. Celebrities sign on with the reality TV show for various reasons, but one thing happens for certain - their lives are enriched in a more positive way.

Kate Gosselin Holds On to Dancer's Body After Being a "DWTS" Contestant

Kate Gosselin, 35, who went on "Dancing with the Stars" as a contestant out of her league, has managed to keep her amazing shape. Gosselin has been photographed in wild prints, backless dresses, and form-fitting clothes which show off her dancer's body. Being a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars" sparked her super-fit bod and she intends to keep it. The single mom of eight has changed her more casual look for a "on the prowl" style. Popeater analyzed Kate Gosselin's transformation since her time on "DWTS."

"StyleList's" Marissa Gold said of Kate in Popeater:

"The pressure of having the paparazzi snap shots of you in a bikini, and all of America watching you in skimpy 'Dancing with the Stars' costumes has led to Gosselin remaining very committed to her fitness regime, and she looks great. She can definitely pull off a miniskirt or some short shorts here and there, so why not have fun? She's still single, and she's still young."

Erin Andrews Got a Part of Her Life Back After "Dancing with the Stars"

Erin Andrews had a rough beginning on "Dancing with the Stars," but found her way back after the competition. She was one of the show's favorite "DWTS" contestants and competed while a court battle with her stalker was going on. Death threats ensued shortly afterward. Somehow the ESPN reporter managed to dance with a smile on her face and score high each week. Her dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, took an active role in helping her overcome her challenging obstacles.

"I came here under really crummy circumstances. I just wanted to be myself again," Andrews said on ABC after her elimination from the show.

Andrews has since gotten additional reporting assignments since being a noted celebrity on "DWTS."

Kelly Osbourne a Real Success Story

After years of yo-yo dieting and drug use, Kelly Osbourne's life changed after her run on "Dancing with the Stars." In a PEOPLE report, Osbourne describes how the show transformed her lifestyle habits.

"When you do something the right way, it's such a different feeling from shoving your face full of diet pills," Kelly told PEOPLE."I feel like a different person."

Once known as a chubby girl, Osbourne dropped 14 pounds in just one month as a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars." She went to a size 4, dropping 2 dress sizes. Now the 24-year-old has changed her life by eating healthier and staying away from prescription drugs and overeating. She eats five small, well-balanced meals a day and keeps a good fitness regime.

Marie Osmond Helped Changed Lives After "Dancing with the Stars"

Marie Osmond inspired mothers of multiple children as a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars." She changed not only her life, but other lives by representing NutriSystem and helping others get a healthy body. Now the entertainer looks better than ever and has successfully maintained her gorgeous shape.

A Pro Dancer has Someone in Mind for the Next Life Change

A "DWTS" pro dancer can think of someone the show would be good for. Derek Hough said the dancers would welcome Lindsay Lohan as a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars." Just released from rehab, the timing would be great for Lohan in keeping her clean and focused.

"if she did it, I'd be game," Derek Hough told E! Online. "It's cool because you do see people turn their lives around on 'Dancing With the Stars.' It keeps them fit. It's nice to see people a year later who started on the new health regime and have kept on track."

This just goes to show even a big TV show like "Dancing with the Stars" makes a difference in people's lives. It just proves how discipline in exercise and healthy eating have a direct impact on our lifestyles.

I love the show and can't wait to watch it this year. Some of the people are frustrating to watch, but it is the fan base that keeps them on there.

are you kidding?! DWTS isn't a rehab show! Yes it's great that a few"stars" cleaned up their act after the show. But DWTS is not a form of rehab. Enen talking about having Logan on the show makes me sick. I mean really people, robynp55 was dead on in her comments...the show is dead..last season was ok with the exception of KG. she was a wreck from the get go. Having peopleon that can already dance really well is so unfairto the others who ca dance a lick...it's suppose to be a contest...it's not anymore. I agree with robynp55 when she wrote G.Leachem was a joke and should have been sent packen first...that was the beginning of the end of the show...a complete waste of air time. Dances With The Stars is not the same show. Time to put US OUT OF OUR MISERY......PULL IT OFF THE AIR! We want good shows to watch.

dwts...where are the stars? the dancer want-a-be's are nobody's. do you really think we want to watch? The show was over when Leachmen was kept on and on after she clearly should have gone home first night. And then yo had Kate G. She was worst then Leachmen yet she stayed when others so much better better dancers went home. This is NOT dancing with the stars anymore, should be Losers on parade! I won't be watching and I know many others who feel the same way. You had a really good show in the beginning, now a waste of time and money.....it's a joke!
