Dolls are not just for kids anymore. While roaming around the Mall one might wonder into a store called Hot Topic and if you're not used to seeing 'Gothic" style clothing you'll get an eye full. Along the back walls and on some shelves are these little darlings called, Living Dead Dolls. Each doll comes with his or her own coffin. A great place to keep the doll if grandma comes over for a visit, we wouldn't want to scare her too much.
These dolls are so gruesome you might not believe they aren't part of some evil curse. Most are dressed in dark gothic style clothing, with horrifically painted faces. Some have what looks like chunks of flesh pulled off their faces and arms. Red veins adorn some of the little girls faces as they stare out you through haunting white eyes.
One of my favorites is Faith from the series 8. She is hulk-like green and wears a black and white dress, her bright blue eyes add to the fear factor as she stands there staring at you. All of these dolls are adorable in a frightening way and anyone who loves horror or gothic type toys will love these dolls.
The Living Dead Dolls were thought up by Ed Long, Damien Glonek and Micheal Markowitz. This brand of dolls has grown in size and fame and has a large fan following. There are more than sixty different characters ad several doll lines. Along with the dolls you can also get clothing, games trading cards and stationary. Everything a collector or admirer of the dolls could ever want.
While looking around their Website I found they also make another type of doll, called Voodooz. These little guys are creepier than anything I've ever seen. They stand about 10'' tall and come with "accessories". With things like pins (To stick them with, they are voodoo dolls after all), mojo bones, binding twine, storage bag and a journal booklet. It all comes packaged in an oversized slide out matchbox. Strange looking little creatures.
Some of them have little skulls adorning their hair, which by the way sticks up all over the place. These little dolls would even send chills up the back of Stephen King.
