Living Your Dreams and Creating a More Meaningful Life

How many people can say that they can wake up whenever and do work wherever and whenever they wish? The other day I took a break from writing, looked out the window and realized just how blessed I am to be living my dream! Wow - I'm here and I really should be enjoying it more, don't you think? Don't you think you too should be enjoying your life and living out your own dreams? Did you know that you are on your way to a more fulfilling life? Do you believe it? Are you enjoying your life right this moment?

Oftentimes we get so caught up in chasing our dreams that we don't realize that we're already there! We're constantly striving for more...wanting more...We acquire material possessions and reach our goals, yet we don't stop to be grateful for what we've acquired and what we've accomplished.

I watched the movie, Click! , with Adam Sandler the other night. It was the first time in a long time that I actually just laid down, relaxed, and laughed my head off! It was an eye opener for me. The movie is about a man who was so preoccupied with work that he lost time with his family. He was in such a hurry to climb the corporate ladder that he never simply enjoyed the time he had at the moment. As much as I believe in living in the moment, sometimes I do get off track and forget why I'm doing what I'm doing. Last year I wanted more time to relax and spend time with family and friends. Now I have that time, but lately I've been absorbed with reaching for the next "level" of life - whatever that may be.

If you find yourself unable to slow down your life, there's a book that I highly recommend called The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It will open up your eyes as far as making you realize that all we have is right here, right now. When we get too caught up in the past or the future, we lose sight what's going on with our life at the moment and in essence do not find our life fulfilling.

It's good to take at least five minutes out of your day to reflect on life and remind yourself that you are already living out your dreams. You will get there, so don't rush it! "Take time to smell the roses" as they say. Enjoy it! Smile! Have fun! And remember that relationships with family and friends are more important than anything else in life!
