Living Easy Raspberry Iced Tea

It's summer time and you know you are thirsty. Nothing beats the heat better than a big glass of fresh ice tea. Here is a refreshing recipe for raspberry iced tea. A favorite in my house.

Living Easy Raspberry Iced Tea

You will need 6 raspberry flavored tea bags. I use Bigelow brand but any brand will do. Don't worry that the herbal teas you find only have directions for hot tea. The tea bags will do fine for iced tea as well.

You will also need 4 cups of water.

Small sauce pan

Sugar

Pitcher to pour tea into

First pour 2 ½ cups of water into sauce pan and bring to boil. Drop in tea bags and remove from heat. Cover and let stand for about 3 to 5 minutes. Pour sugar into pitcher. Sugar is a matter of taste but I use about ½ to 1 cup of sugar. Remove tea bags from hot tea in sauce pan and pour tea into pitcher with sugar. Stir briskly until sugar is dissolved. Add the rest of the water which should be about 2 to 2 1/2 cups. Stir to mix. Add ice and enjoy.

You can add color and fun to this tea by freezing fresh raspberries into ice cubes and placing in chilled glasses before pouring over tea. Add fresh sliced lemon wedges to sides of glasses. Serve.
