When you think of an addiction the first thing that comes to most people minds are drugs, but never do you really truly think of food. Food unfortunately can become very addictive and is a habit that is very very hard to kick. Not only is over eating unhealthy, but the types of foods that you consume are just as important. Why do we over eat and consume too many calories daily? Only because we feel we have to and that the taste is good.

Some people think that food can't be addictive, but how wrong that are. Most people in life naturally from time to time may crave for a certain type of food, but a addict has a urge to have food. People that over eat are usual moderate obese, but can become severely obese and this alone will cause major health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes,strokes, heart problems, trouble breathing, lack of energy, also stress and the list continues. Alot of people that are addicted to food are aware of this matter, but most times try to ignore the symptoms only until it is totally out of hand and noticeably obese. It can be very hard to shake a food addiction when food is what we live off that can become a very difficult task, but with determination you can accomplish anything.

If you have ever had a McDonald's order of large french fries with a milkshake and a double cheeseburger and after eating it you find yourself wanting more not just because you didn't get full, but because you just felt like you wanted more then you might have a problem coming on. There are lots of foods that is more easy to get addicted to like cheese, chocolate, processed meats, and ice cream. Majority of fast food restaurants sells different types of food that is highly additive like coffee that you can buy right out a convenience store. Coffee has caffeine in it and we all know that caffeine is additive but not to the point that it will make you gain weight.

Craving lots of junk foods like frito's, potato chips, cookies, and snacks are all bad signs if you crave these things often with the ending result being that you got them. Sugar is bad for a person that has a eating problem due to it gives your body and mind a sense that I feel really good but hours later it drains you of your energy. As a food addict the question is why do we eat? We eat cause we think we want the food that we have a huge urge to eat. The only cure for this is willpower and strength and if you don't have them chances are that you will be obese for a long time. Reality is yes food is a enjoyment in life but you can't let food control your life you have to control food and how much of it we consume. Remember that we are suppose to eat to live not just live to eat.
