Living on the Edge: Clipping Coupons for Huge Savings

A Quick Overview of the Savings Coupons Can Bring

Desperado22
The art of coupon clipping stems back to the advent of discounts, and man's need for them. Today, in this day and age, we need every penny pinched, bleed and drained dry. While there are, more than likely, hundreds of ways to build a budget, stick to it, and scrip on everything, I like to start with the simplest methods of savings. The starter for that subject is clipping coupons. I offer for you today, a sample of just a few items I tend to clip 'em for. After all friends, isn't your own life the best example to those you wish to sway to your opinion? With all that said, away we go.

The first item is simple, and item I buy at least once a month, most of the time much, much more. Meat! Please, dear reader, save the "Where's the beef" comment for later, as I'm sure, it's somewhere in my fridge! The general coupon I clip for meat is a twenty-cent discount. The average one-pound pack of meat I buy is normally $2.45, I only pay $2.25. Stretching that extra-twenty cents over a year begins your savings, adding up to $2.40. The second coupon I clip on a regular basis, is off of my twenty-four packs of Dr. Pepper. Out of those twenty-four packs, is a coupon for a free twelve pack, a $4.00 value. Stretching that out, from once a month, to a years time, and you have $48.00 in savings. Just those two purchases alone, will give you $50.00 extra a year. Considering the much larger amounts I, and most people, buy these items in, the savings jump. On these two, and only these two items, my personal savings are nearly two-hundred dollars! Yes, we drink a lot of Dr. Pepper! Just think of what you could do if you bought nearly all of your groceries this way! Given how simple and easy it is, I would, and do, suggest it to everyone I know.

In closing, dear reader, I hope you see that this, the simplest of all steps toward making a penny bleed, is one of the more immediate, and fruitful step you can take on your way to penny-pinching heaven. In the future, I hope to bring you more articles, advice, and helpful incites like this one, to hopefully make your life simpler. Much like mine.
