Some conservation practices are a matter of routine. Think before you throw away. Try these and save.

• Plastic zipper storage bags - clean with soap and water and turn inside out to dry.

• Carry out plastic bags. Return plastic bags to your grocery store bag depository.

• Best are the cloth carry-alls, found at most grocery stores for a small fee or free.

• Almost used up soap bars make wonderful sachet for closets and clothes drawers.

• In the bottom of your laundry hamper, place soap pieces a mesh bag.

• Use the water in half empty bottles to water the inside plants.

• Cleaned panty hose legs for puzzle pieces, small toys, or game parts and anything that fits. Panty hose are great for stuffing cushions or stuffed toys.

Decoupage is great on rainy days, kids love it. Keep a "rainy day box" in the closet. Use recycled papers, tissue papers or wrapping papers and magazines.

• Need napkin rings? Use girl's hair bands and bracelets. Many come in a pack.

• Tear paper towels in half. Just drying your hands? Reuse.

• The unused side of your typing and computer paper. (those oops' papers)

• Make note pads with the unused side of paper and clip with a baggie clip.

Get in the habit. Throw away. Give away. Reuse. Recycle.
