I love to meet people who have overcome obstacles in their lives. It reminds me that no matter how hard things can be at times, there is hope.
I would like to introduce you to a new friend of mine. Maria is a woman who shines with positive vibes and inspiration. I was introduced to her through another friend of mine on Facebook and it has been my pleasure to get to know her through correspondence and the following interview:
Introduction to Maria Erving
Maria Erving is a Personal Development Teacher and published author who helps others get crystal clear about their passions and purpose, setting personal goals and taking inspired action. Maria says, "Life is meant to be lived outside the box."
Throughout her life, Maria has been interested in the variety of universal laws and principles and how they directly and indirectly impact our lives.
She is the author of "Energy Awareness: How to Use Energy to Change Your Life" and "The Power of Aligned Thought: How The Mind Works and How To Use It". Maria also has numerous articles on the Internet and has co-authored several books.
Maria's life is all about spiritual and personal growth and her studies over the years have included A Course in Miracles, the teachings of Abraham Hicks (Law of Attraction) and Science of mind among others.
1. Life is meant to be lived on our own terms - Outside the Box! What do you mean by this?
I love that question! That sentence basically describes the essence of my work.
I believe that there is nothing average about any of us, that we are all here to share something unique with the world that only we can give. Most people live from a perspective of the ego. They only experience life viewed via the five senses, and ignore the sixth, which is constantly trying to get through to us and help us live our purpose.
Life is meant to be lived outside the box of confirmity, outside the box of dullness and routine. There is more to life than what we take in with our senses! The sixth sense is our intuition which only wants us to live a purposeful and lovefilled life. We must make the commitment to obey our hearts and not what other people or the world expects from us!
2. Please tell us a little bit about your passions and why they are your "cause"?
My passions are what my life is about. I'm passionate about teaching others to re-shape and upgrade their thinking so that they can live more fully. I'm passionate about getting my message out to as many people as possible, and I'm passionate about all the things I learn about myself and life every day. I love all the wonderful people I meet and get to know on my journey. We are eternal beings with eternal depth. We are never 'done'. We are all each others teachers in some way.
I'm truly passionate about life and about teaching others about the inner power that we all have to create a life filled with awesomeness and freedom! Our mind is powerful to say the least! This is the greatest discovery of all times in human history.
3. What are some of the hardest things you have had to overcome in your life?
Wow. Tough one. I mean, every challenge had me in a different place in my own evolution, so every difficult time was life-changing and altering in it's own way. Every victory also brought me to a higher place in my consciousness, and would not have been the same as if I had experienced them earlier or sooner in my life. But of course, to name one huge life-changing time in my life was when I decided to leave my days of drug addiction behind me and checked myself into rehab. From then on my life took off in an upward spiral, even if that time itself had its own challenges.
4. What changed?
Everything. Absolutely everything. I wanted to change my life in every way when I got myself into rehab for my drug problems and everything that came with it, and so I did. You wouldn't recognize me if you had met me only a decade ago. It's was a different life altogether.
5. What are the some of the things that you are working on right now?
My main focus right now is to get my message and teachings out to the world in a larger scale than before so I'm planning live events, seminars and workshops worldwide. I have been invited to Malasya in August to be a key speaker on two seminars. I have some other plans in the works too but it is too soon to mention them. In short, I'm looking into creating live events worldwide and I'm very excited about it all!
6. Anything else you would like to share?
Yes, I'd love to share my blog with you where you can learn more about me and my teachings at www.mariaerving.com
I also have written two books about some of the things I teach: www.energyawarenessbook.com and www.thepowerofalignedthoughtbook.com. You can find me on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter: www.fb.com/mariaerving http://no.linkedin.com/in/mariaerving www.fb.com/MariaErving.LikePage www.fb.com/EnergyAwareness and www.twitter.com/mariaerving
I would also give you a free e-book 'Clarity Exercise '" With Over 30 Powerful Questions That Will help You Gain Clarity': www.mariaerving.com/FreeEbook (Which also includes an excerpt from one of my books)
7. What are your dreams/visions/plans for the future.
I'm huge on goal setting-creating a vision for yourself and so on, so I do have them for myself as well. Clarity is very important and my main focus right now in my life is my business and success, expansion and sharing on a larger scale than ever before.
I live and breath what I do and am always looking to improve and learn while at the same time share and teach. It's a continuous process and the sky is the limit!
I want to thank you for the opportunity to chat with you Kay, I loved your questions and I cheer you on your journey through life sharing your message of empowerment with the world. Thank you for sharing that which only you can give to the world! There is no one that could have done it better than You:-) And that goes for all of us. So we must not let people wait: Connect with your purpose and start sharing!
