Living in the Mountains Teaches You How to Have Respect for Nature

When you decide to live in the mountains, with the wildlife and nature, you must learn to respect it. Our family recently bought an RV and moved to the mountains where we will remain through the winter. While here we are teaching the children, as well as ourselves, how to respect the nature around us. Nature is very important to us all, we need it in order to survive, so we should learn how to respect it, and never forget to always to do so.

Where we are living, we are in the woods in the mountains, and there are mountain lions, wolves, bears, fox, elk, lots of deer, and even a moose here and there. There are a ton of crows, and squirrels too.

We all like to go for walks around the park we live in each day, and we are always finding bear prints, lots of deer, and elk, fox, and prints that look like either a wolf, or a mountain lion. It's a neat feeling seeing these prints, and thinking, "wow, these animals were that close to my home"! Call me crazy, but I've always wanted to see a live bear, and we now live in a park where a momma and cub hang out often, and we still have not seen a bear, LOL!

There is much more to nature and wildlife, and having respect for it. The animals are only part of nature, and it's beauty. Look at all the insects. Yes I said insects, they are beautiful too. We saw a spider yesterday that was just really awesome. It had two yellow - orange stripes on it's tummy, and was sorta tiger striped everywhere else. The spider was about the size of a silver dollar around, maybe a little bigger, so we were able to see all it's patterns. For a spider, it was quite beautiful.

Let's not forget about all the plant life. I personally love plants. They are not only beautiful, they are also therapeutic. Caring for a plant can be very soothing to the nerves, and relieve a lot of stress. I talk to my plants, I've always been told they like that. The plants in nature is where you must have the utmost respect, because if you don't... It could be disastrous. Just look at the wildfires that happen all the time, because someone was careless with their campfire, or cigarette.

Do you live in the mountains? Do you have respect for nature where you live? I sure hope so, because if you don't..., Only God knows what will happen, but I can tell you, it will not be good!

Utica NY is one of the greenest cities in america. It's kinda oddish but we have three big parks and also very large cemeteries in the city.
