Every year we get a little older and get a little more set in our ways. We ask for the desires of our hearts and watch our expensive gift list go unmeet and untouched. We have our own idea of what we must have to keep up with our neighbors. Our idea of living within our means, leaves us with at least two credit cards, a car and house payment, and no time to enjoy anything we slave away for. Basically we end up with more debt and less time to enjoy all the things we think we have to have. If you want control of your life you have to live simply.

First thing you have to eliminate expenses. Do you really need that $50,000 car or that $120,000 house? Living within you means is not buying the best. It is however buying what you can afford. You don't need the latest and the greatest to survive. You need a roof over your head and a way to get to work. Get rid of the credit cards and lower you standards. Sell your expensive house and get a reasonable car with lower or no payments. When researching your car expenses, you might consider what is best for insurance. If you live within your means on car expenses than you are bound to feel an ease in your life.

Sit down and figure out what it really takes to live on. Things like you electric, gas, food, water, and trash expenses. When you sit down and look at your list, you will find that it doesn't take a lot to live. When you narrow it done to just the accentual, you will discover that trimming your budget and eliminating the waste can have you living within your means in no time. Don't buy the most expensive food, conserve energy, and make each trip in your vehicle as efficient as possible. Look for way to tighten you belt and use less to make more.

Once all these things are considered, you will see your time free up. Living simply and within your means is the only way to enjoy your life. After you have budgeted, cut expenses, and figured out what it truly take to live on you will find yourself budgeting you newly found free time. If you see something that you must have don't run out and apply for the credit card, find a way to earn it. If you save anything above what you have budgeted , you can you some of what you save toward the purchase of what it is you desire. You must remember however, that any money you save can help you when something breaks or you need a car repaired. A savings can be you security blanket when you are living on so little.

One thing to remember when you decide to live within your means is you are buying time. Time is something you can never get back. So cut your expenses, live in a manageable house with a affordable car, and find way to cut you expenses through creating habits that help. Living simply can not only buy you time but it can also help the environment. Helping the environment is just good practice considering you will be able to enjoy it now.
