Local 4th of July Events in the Valley: Granada Hills, CA
Celebrating Independence Day in and Around the San Fernando Valley
No advance ticket purchase is required. This San Fernando Valley event is free and open to the public from 10:00 am to 9:30 pm. Event parking is available off of the Osborne exit from 210 Freeway and is reasonably priced at $5.00 for the whole day.
This is not just an ordinary Fireworks show. The venue will include great entertainment for the whole family-to include a tribute to the "Nifty 50's" featuring the classic sounds of Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly. And with many activities available at Hansen Dam, it's a great venue for all ages.
Activities featured on this day will include a small carnival-rides and booths for fun to keep you and your family busy during the day, and many food vendors on site to fit your family's palette, and satisfy their appetites. Corn dogs, cotton candy, frozen lemonade and shaved Italian ice are just some of delicious items you can anticipate!
The Firework's show will begin promptly at 9:00 pm. Be sure to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets as there will be no stadium or similar seating available.
When spending the entire day at Hansen Dam, you might want to take a dip in the public pool, located at the sport's center. It's a great way to cool off and provides something else to offer those hard to please children, once your money has been exhausted on all of those carnival rides and booths.
Make sure to pack a change of clothes, a towel and don't forget the sun screen. You don't want the only lasting memory of this event to be the sunburn you carry with you for the next week.
As the night time will cool down, be sure to keep a light sweater or jacket handy. You don't want your evening of fun to be hindered!
Because the San Fernando Valley is home to thousands of residents, the Hansen Dam Recreation Center is expecting a big turn out for this local area event. They strongly suggest that you arrive early to secure your parking space and avoid the long lines and crowds.
