Christmas Events and Holiday Kickoffs You Will Not Want to Miss in the Denver Area
Denver, CO 80202
United States of America
Christmas in Colorado is a beautiful time of year. Festivities abound to make your holiday season full of light. With a variety to choose from, here are details of local downtown Christmas lighting events in the Denver area you will not want to miss!
Downtown Denver Grand Illumination
The Christmas lights in downtown Denver are breathtaking, warming and cheerful despite the sometimes chilling weather. Still, a white Christmas brings the season to life so enjoy it best by bundling up for this great event.
Downtown Denver's Grand Illumination event begins on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 6 pm. For more details visit Denver Events - Downtown Denver Grand Illumination. The holiday lights will continue nightly through the end of December. So even if you miss the lighting ceremony, you can still see the great Christmas lights on a night of your choosing. I prefer to ride the Light Rail downtown and avoid the hassle of parking and traffic. In that way, I feel free to enjoy all the sights that make this downtown visit a Christmas must!
Downtown Littleton Candlelight Walk
If you prefer a smaller, more hometown feel to your Christmas lighting event, then Main Street in Downtown Littleton is perfect for you!
Friday, November 25th marks the 2011 Candlelight Walk and Tree Lighting at 6:30pm. This is the 28th time this beloved tradition will be held. Santa Claus on his sleigh will parade down Main Street. Other activities include hot cider, music and opportunities for photos with Santa and his reindeer. Come early for all the pre-lighting festivities. More information can be found at Candlelight Walk returns to Main Street or by phone 303-795-3863.
The holiday lights are fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. Downtown Littleton is a great way to start your Christmas season. And the trees stay lit, so you can return throughout the holidays in the evenings to see the lights and capture the season.
Downtown Estes Park Come Catch the Glow Holiday Event
Need the mountain air to make your Christmas complete? Then the magic of Estes Park welcomes you! Held on the day after Thanksgiving each year, the event kicks off a month full of Estes Park Christmas celebrations that will draw you in. This Christmas event starts at noon on Friday, November 25, 2011 followed by the parade at 5:30pm. Best of all, the activities are free.
The fun includes music, lights, floats, friendly animal characters, hayrides and visits with Santa Claus. For more information, visit Estes Park Colorado Come Catch the Glow Holiday Event or call toll-free 1-800-44-ESTES. Estes Park is a favorite spot for my family and me. We love the beauty and the great times we have there.
