Local Coffee Shops in Brunswick, Georgia
Daddy Cates - Easily the most well-known coffee shop in Brunswick and maybe throughout the Golden Isles, Daddy Cates is a long-time coffee shop located in historic downtown Brunswick, Georgia. It's a small shop so get there early if you would like a spot on the couch. Of course, you can ask a local to share a spot and part of the newspaper with you. Everyone is welcome here.
You'll find muffins, coffee, and teas for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch. During warmer weather there are tables outside or take your lunch to nearby Mary Ross Waterfront Park and watch the shrimp boats.

Z Cyber Cafe - This has to be the best little coffee shop that is way underutilized. Not only are there plenty of comfy couches to read and enjoy your coffee, there are also plenty of tables to enjoy lunch or spread out and work on your computer while enjoying the free wifi.
Z Cyber Cafe is tucked in to the same shopping center as the Winn Dixie. Look for the cheerful flower baskets and tables just outside the entrance to the restaurant.
In addition to coffee and wonderful desserts, Z Cyber Cafe has scrumptious lunch specials. If you don't get there in time to enjoy the authentic paella, salmon croquettes, or Spanish potato salad, it's not my fault. Give this place a try - now.

Local Coffee Shops on St. Simons Island, Georgia
Palm Coast Coffee - If this place got any more popular it would have to clone itself. Palm Coast Coffee opened a few years ago in a old beach house - the only one left in the center of the Pier Village. What a perfect idea. Embraced from the moment it opened its doors, Palm Coast Coffee just gets more and more popular. You can get all kinds of coffee, tee, muffins, cookies, and a meal. There are a few couches, more tables, and rocking chairs on the front porch.
When weather permits you can eat outside in the courtyard. During the evening there is usually music - including an open mic night and more professional music on the weekend. Did I mention they are have a small bar tucked into the corner of the house? Free wifi, too.
Here's a link to some video of Palm Coast Coffee shot in 2007. It looks much the same - good things don't have to change.

Cafe Solterra - I've talked about this cafe while singing the praises of it as the perfect place to eat ice cream in the Golden Isles. However, Cafe Solterra is perfect for drinking coffee, too. Several coffee variations are offered, along with sandwiches, salads, and of course the ice cream.
What sets this place apart is the outdoor tables and relaxing atmosphere on the porch of the Jekyll Island Club hotel. Whether you are are local or a tourist, really, you must stop by this place when you need a few minutes to unwind.
