Dog parks are great for dog owners, especially those who live in an apartment or have a large dog who needs to run. Below find some local dog parks for residents in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.
Mount Laurel New Jersey Dog Run
This dog park in Laurel Acres Park is for all dogs, but they have separate areas for different sized dogs. Owners must have their leash on hand in case they need to use it and must keep the gate closed at all times. Only 3 dogs per person allowed. Don't forget to pick up your your dogs poop! Located at Church Street and Union Mills Roads. Check website for other rules.
Cooper River Dog Park
Located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, this dog park also has separate areas for small and large dogs. There is a fountain, which is turned off in the winter, benches and lighting. You can also walk your dog with a leash on the paths there. Make sure to clean up the poop your dog leaves. Located at North Park Drive at Cuthbert and is open from 6am - 10pm.
Schuylkill River Dog Park
Located at South 25th Street and Spruce Street in Philadelphia, this dog park is great for city dogs. The park runs along the Schuylkill River and was listed as an off-leash dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. Bring bags for your dogs poop. No food and don't bring toys that other dogs can't play with too.
Passyunk Dog Park
This no leash dog park in Passyunk Square in Philly has lots of tree stumps for the dogs to play and jump on. There is not a separate area for small or large dogs, and this park is listed as a no leash dog park. The park is fenced in and is located on 1200 Wharton Street and 12th and Reed. This area is considered South Philly.
