The Society offers many resources for their members. A newsletter is published six times a year and includes current news and research tips. LCGS also publishes books that can help further research. Research services are available for simple records look up.
Dues are based on a calendar year and are 18.00 for individual and 27.00 for family. You can also find them on the web at http://lcgsco.org .
Fort Collins Public Libraries are a great source of information for family history research. Online you will find a database of information that will help you get your research started. The Harmony Library is located at 4616 S. Shields, Main Library is at 201 Peterson St and on March 28th a new library will be opening; Council Tree Library will be located at 2733 Council Tree. Fort Collins Museum located at 200 Matthews St, is a treasure trove of local family history. This museum is free to the public but does accepted donations. Hours of operation are Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 am to 5pm. . . . My family and I enjoy this museum very much and always look forward to the rotating exhibits. Take the elevator upstairs and you will find exhibits and information on local families and how they carved out a life in Northern Colorado. The Northern Colorado Chapter of American Historical Society of Germans from Russia is a wonderful group of people who are interested in bringing together others who are interested in the history of Germans from Russia who have settled in this area. AHSGR offers dinner meetings at 6pm and they meet at Aims College Corporate Education Center, located at 5590 11th St Greeley, Colorado. Even though they do not require dues the society does offer membership at 50.00 for individual or family. You can access their website at www.ahsgr.org for further contact information.
