R.E. Tapas Kitchen and Lounge is attempting something a little risky in October. While turn out, for it's regularly scheduled standard wine paired dinners has been good the chef is looking toward a different demographic. Both of his sisters being vegan or vegetarian he is continually bombarded by requests for "something that tastes good". Realizing that the vegan/vegetarian community really has it's options limited when it comes to any kind of remotely upscale dining experience he put his regular wine dinner on hold and wrote up a menu almost any vegetarian would drive 30 miles for. Writing the menu took longer than any other he had written previously, due to lack of experience in the vegetarian field or cuisine. The chef said he is going to tough this one out and see what kind of response he gets, this will ultimately determine the future of this event, and the future of vegetarians options to dine out in the Las Vegas Area. The Meal is paired with wines from Italy and Spain just as the previous menus. Including items such as, (Beet Carpaccio, 1 Meter of Fire Roasted Tomato Consomme, A marinated Portobello Mushroom Napoleon with Bell Pepper Gastrique, and Sushi prepared with fresh fruit (sashimi) and spiced glutenous rice), his regular clientele are jumping at the opportunity to try a vegetarian dining experience like this, not only the vegetarian community. The great thing about this event is it's not going to break the bank, $85.00 included ten courses, all individually paired with their own wines, tax and gratuity. For details on the event it would be best to call the restaurant at 702-617-9220. Their website is available at: retapaslounge.com
