Local Motion is a surf company in Hawaii. It carries such noticeable lines as Hawaiian Style. Ever wonder where those great-looking T-shirts with the goofy local slang came from? It comes from Hawaiian Style, a brand carried almost exclusively by Local Motion. If you don't know what Local Motion is, just watch the reality show "Real World: Hawaii."

That MTV show pretty much solidified the shop as one of the leading surf wear and accessories shop in Hawaii. It is the shop where all the cast members worked at. It is a great place, but rather pricey if you don't know any better. Shirts can sell close to or over $20 a piece at the Waikiki location. By the way, lots of things in Waikiki are overpriced. You can get things a lot cheaper if you just venture out a little.

However, you are in luck as I will let you in on a little secret. You can get all this stuff for almost half off at their outlet store located in Waipahu on the island of Oahu. In Waipahu is a shopping center known as Waikele Outlet. Nestled near the back of the center is Local Motion. It is such a great kept secret that some of my friends to this day still do not know that it exists.

If you are looking for great quality, durable and fashionable surf wear then look no further than Local Motion at Waikele. It is about a thirty minute drive from the Waikiki area and is well worth it if you can get out there. There are some tour companies that take advantage of this and send some of their customers there to shop. Great for business there, as they are able to keep bringing in quality stuff at low prices.

The other awesome thing is that there are a ton of other outlet stores there as well such as Coach and Skechers. Hawaii does not have to be expensive and it can be inexpensive if you know where to go. Shop at Local Motion and pick up unique one of a kind shirts and aloha wear, you can also get other accessories like watches, surfboards, bags, hats, videos, you name it and they have got it.

So the next time you are out this way and want to shop for low priced local attire, remember to ask the front desk people which way Waikele is, trust me you won't regret it.
