Local Restaurant Review: The Blue Pacific Grill in Perrysburg, Ohio

Unique Dinning Experience at a New, Locally Owned Restaurant at Levis Commons

The Pacific Grill is a new, locally owned restaurant that opened at Levis Commons in Perrysburg Ohio. They are open seven days a week, from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. They feature a unique menu and dinning experience for the area.

Here in the Toledo area we have had numerous restaurants open with a variety of themes and gimmicks to try to draw people in. One of the more unique styles of restaurant I have been to in a while is at The Pacific Grill. When you enter the restaurant, they hand you a bowl when you get to your table. And this is not just any type of bowl; it is a dish you will use to decide your eating experience for the evening.

When you go up to the bar, you will notice the wide variety of choices available to you. The best part of the choices is that none are poor looking; all of the ingredients look fresh, crispy and ready to use-not at al like most "buffet" style restaurants. The key here is that all of your ingredients are raw! Yes, the large selections of meats and vegetables, including shrimp, steak, chicken and salmon and vegetables such as broccoli, green peppers, baby corns, onions and carrots are all laid out before your eyes to create what you would like to eat.

Once those choices are met, there is a station of sauces. All of them clearly labeled to the flavor, some sweet, others tangy or even spicy-all can b taste-tested before committing to one. There are even some suggestions as to which sauce combinations would taste best.

Now comes the final Step. Choice a starch, either a noodle or rice type of side to go along with it, and hand your food to the chef. There are two or three guys with long wooden sticks standing in front of a large, circular cooking surface. This style of cooking, Mongolian barbeque, is popular is some areas of the country, but never caught on here in Toledo. Well now it has. Watching them cook is half the fun, and when it is ready, your heaping portion is placed on a plate and handed to you.

Wow. That's the best way to describe the tastes. The flavors come alive, popping off the plate and into your mouth. We had more than enough left over, and the fun part about a return trip is that no two meals will ever be the same. I highly recommend a trip to this unique local restaurant in Levis Commons Perrysburg.
