I give Virginia Street Café ten stars. My husband and I love eating there. They have great food, and great prices. When we went for lunch, my husband wore jeans and a polo shirt, and I wore slacks and a nice blouse, but it seemed that even if we went in shorts and a t-shirt, we would have been welcome! There were plenty of people in having lunch at that time, some in casual wear, and some wearing suits.
I ordered a club sandwich, which comes with chips and a pickle. They have very good sandwiches. My husband likes the philly steak sandwich. It's the only restaurant in our area where he will order one. When we have lunch there, our bill is around $15, but there are other sandwiches that are less expensive, and two people could eat there for what you'd pay at a fast food place.
Virginia Street Café is well known for their Iced Tea. I know men who won't drink their wives' tea, but will drink it at the Café! So when you stop in, feel free to enter through the back door (back door guests are best!), and tell them you want a big glass of their sweet iced tea. It'll compliment any meal you order.
So, you're seated comfortably (almost like you're at home) at the table, you've got your tea, and a delicious meal. What else could you ask for? How about a great staff? The servers and hostesses at Virginia Street Café really know how to welcome you to their establishment and they take great care of you while you're there.
Virginia Street Café is located-you guessed it-on Virginia Street in Urbanna, Virginia. It is very easy to get to from George Washington Memorial Highway. Urbanna is home of the Oyster Festival (first weekend in November), and the Café is always the place to be for Oyster Fest. While you're there, see if you can get your hands on one of the famous Virginia Street Café Oyster Festival T-shirts or Sweatshirts. Very comfy, and if you survive the Oyster Festival, you'll want proof!
Next time you're passing through the Middle Peninsula of Virginia, stop in to Virginia Street Café for a great meal. You'll be pleased.
