If you are an active type, you will absolutely embrace the many and varied activities that go on in Fort Worth, TX every summer:

It's been 20 years since Concert in the Gardens made their first appearance in Fort Worth, Texas and this year the event kicked off June 4 and will continue through the 27th. Past themes have included such tributes as The Beatles among other famous ones.

Break out the picnic basket and listen to music under the stars painted across a summer sky while the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra entertains you. Be sure to stay for the fireworks as they are on hand every night at the festivities. The grounds open at 6:30 p.m. and concerts begin at 8:00.

Through June 30 witness the splendor that encompasses "Within the Emperor's Garden: The Ten Thousand Springs Pavilion" at the Irving Arts Center in Irving, Texas. (Source: Pegasus News).

The stunning exhibition celebrates the traditional art of Chinese red sandalwood art carvings and is highlighted by a nine-foot tall model of the Ten Thousand Springs.

The event schedule is: Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays 9-5, Thursdays, 9-8, M-W., 9-5, and Sundays 1-5 p.m. The location is 3333 North MacArthur Boulevard (in the carpenter lobby) and the event is free for kids and adults.

Take a tour of the country via food July 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, from north to south and east to west by trying the foods Americans love best at "Travel USA." Fans of the artist Amsel Adams will appreciate the current exhibit of his at 3501 Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth called "Eloquent Light" at Amon Carter Museum.

The event features 40 lesser known and landmark works of art by the famous creator/photographer, according to research. The handicapped accessible facility has free exhibits on a regular basis.

Camp Giddyup is a four-day program for children ages eight and up and it's held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Barratt's Farm, 950 N. Winningkoff Road in Luke, TX.

Aug. 7, 13, and 14 Arts Fifth Avenue presents SceneShop at 7:30 p.m. for a cost of $12 and the event showcases live music, scenes, monologues, and theatrical vignettes (1628 5th Avenue, 817-923-9500).
