Give Back: Thanksgiving Food Box Distribution
During the Thanksgiving season, opportunities for giving and volunteering abound. For Jeffco Action Center's special event, Thanksgiving Food Box Distribution on Sunday, November 20th , volunteers will be needed to sort, pre-pack, and help with drive-thru distribution. Adults and teens, ages 15 and over, are invited to participate for this event which will be held at Creighton Middle School, 50 South Kipling Street, Lakewood, CO 80226-1080. To volunteer for this event, email Lorraine or call 303.237.7704 ext. 244. Giving back is a great way to show our thankfulness at Thanksgiving.

Jeffco Action Center is located at 8755 West 14th Avenue Lakewood, CO 80215 and provides year-round service opportunities.
Thanksgiving Day 5K Run or 1.5 mile Fun Run/Walk: Clement Park Gobble Wobble
Do you prefer fun and exercise first before the turkey? The Thanksgiving run and run/walk will be held on Thursday, November 24, 2011, beginning at 8:30 am, at Clement Park, 7306 W. Bowles Ave. Littleton, CO 80123. This Thanksgiving Day event benefits Professionals Miracles Foundation, an organization that helps Denver metro children and families.
The 5K is $30 per individual. The 1.5 mile fun run/walk is $20 per individual or $75 for immediate family of up to 6 people. Register online at Clement Park Gobble Wobble 2011. Online registration closes on Monday, November 21st, however day of race registration is available at slightly increased prices.
Bring the whole family for this fun-filled Thanksgiving Day event, as even strollers and dogs on leashes are allowed. Clement Park is a favorite location of mine.
Thanksgiving Break: Denver Art Museum
Fun for children and adults can be had with a visit to Thanksgiving Break at the Denver Art Museum, Wednesday, November 23-Sunday, November 27, 10 am-4 pm, closed Thanksgiving Day. Museum admission prices are Adults $10, Youth, age 6-18, $3 and Kids age 5 and under are free. Explore the galleries. Check out a family backpack from the Family Activity Cart. Family Activities are free with the museum admission price.
