Lockerz.Com

Website Review

Walter Kovacs
Lockerz.com is a new invite-only website that let's you answer questions and watch videos to earn points. These points can be redeemed for amazing prizes, such as cash (up to 5,000 dollars), electronics (everything from computer backgrounds to macbooks), and Lockerz Originals (like tee shirts). All of these prizes are amazing, and for the small price of watching a few videos and answering a daily question, there is no reason not to go to this website.

So let's start with what video content there is on the Lockerz website. The Lockerz team makes their own content, as well as posting other content such as music videos and television show clips. All of this content is fun to watch, and if you don't want to watch it, you can just mute it and wait for the points to roll in. The Lockerz team makes cool videos such as: Gerta Gets a Boyfriend, The Carpet Brothers, and Prom Queen. All of these are mini-series that are fun to watch, and are almost never over 5 minutes long, so you don't have to wait very long to get your points. Earning points watching videos is often tedious, because it sucks up bandwidth on your computer, limiting your ability to do other things. Having the videos actually be interesting, like the Nite Fite videos (two animated men debate odd issues), makes waiting and earning points a little more bearable. Just keep your eyes on the prize though, and earning points won't be difficult at all.

There isn't much more than that on the Lockerz website right now, but there is an entire section that will be coming soon. I'm pretty sure this section is called "My Locker," because that is what the title is if you scroll over the tab really quickly. This should make the website even more fun, adding ways to make it a little bit more personal. In general, the website interface is done relatively well, which makes the website easy to navigate. The only problem is that there are sometimes pages that are hard to find, as well as no search bar for videos. If there was a search bar, that would make navigating the video menus easier. The only thing is, Lockerz is a free website, which means they must be getting money from ads. By having to click through sometimes 4 links to get to videos, you maximize views on ads, which makes Lockerz money. This is actually a good thing. They can use this cash to restock their prizes and inventory.

If anyone wants invites to Lockerz.com, please send me an email to ianzane@zanes.com telling me that you want an invite. I should have one sent out to you within 5 days, and you can get on your way earning points.
