Logan McQueary Cleared Out Trailer Owned by Baby Gabriel Mom, Elizabeth Johnson

Missing Baby Gabriel Johnson

Rik Merchant
When the alleged father of missing baby Gabriel Johnson, Logan McQueary, was at the start of his publicized road-trip search for his now-ten-months-old son, he reportedly received a call from 'his landlord' telling him to clear his things out his trailer, in a Tempe Arizona trailer park, or else the things would be sold. So, on Friday February 6 2010, McQueary flew from Texas to Arizona. KPHO taped McQueary outside the Tempe trailer while he was in the process of clearing it out.

An source close to Johnson has said that Johnson leased the Tempe trailer to own and that it was in her name. In February 2010, KPHO reported: "McQueary said he was contacted by his old [Johnson's] landlord who told him he had to get his stuff out of the Tempe trailer he shared with the baby's mom, Elizabeth Johnson, 23, or all of it would be sold." So, McQueary interrupted his barely-begun search for his son and flew from Texas to Arizona to clear out the trailer.

Johnson lived in the trailer with her son Gabriel. A source close to Johnson stated that the trailer park does not allow felons as residents. McQueary has been in trouble with the law from 2004 through 2009 for burglary and drug use. According to a court document, which I have in my possession, he was in jail for four months during Johnson's pregnancy. His jail time was from February 18 2008- June 2008. He has also had months of probation- even during the time when Gabriel was born, as he admitted in court. In a KPHO video, Johnson stated that McQueary was living with his father.

According to a later KPHO video, in court on Friday (March 26), McQueary told the judge that he is presently living with his father, Franklin McQueary, which is where Baby Gabriel will live, once found. Also in court, McQueary agreed he will be moving to Texas and then said he will be there for just a couple of months.

How did Johnson afford the trailer? While she had her job, she saved up the money, for a long time, for a down payment on it. My source placed the amount between $4,000 and $6,000. Yet, Johnson later ran into financial trouble. She had given up her job and school as stated in the court document excerpts in an image with this article. She sold items, including a laptop, on Craig's List reportedly to make ends meet. She even sold her two Yorkies. Her grandfather, Bob Johnson, received a phone call saying his granddaughter had not been paying on her note and so she needed to remove her belongings.

Elizabeth Johnson seems to have been a decent if not a good mother. Remove those nasty heated text messages to McQueary about Baby Gabriel and set aside the story that she cut up baby clothes and tore apart a crib- for which no court records have appeared- then we have a young mother who does not want her baby yet she cares enough to want a better life for him. (Yes, there is a court record showing $1800 damage to an apartment but the listed damage does not include baby items- I have this record in my possession).

What is the evidence that Johnson cared about Baby Gabriel and his future? She took parenting classes during her pregnancy because she wanted to be a good parent. And she wanted to earn vouchers for diapers, a walker, a swing, and other baby items. She did not believe she would be able to otherwise afford these things. After Gabriel was born, Johnson- having dealt with her pregnancy alone for four months or so- began suffering from postpartum depression.

Johnson now sits in jail on several charges, including kidnapping. Only the payment of her $1.1 million cash-only bond will free her at this time. But one has to ask. Now that most people believe that Baby Gabriel is alive- the court is operating on that assumption; McQueary seems confident of that belief- why are the release conditions for Johnson not changed? She has asked her lawyer to file for a change in the release conditions. But her lawyer will not. The story was told by AZ Central.

McQueary in the meantime is living with his father- just as Johnson during a jail interview in January said he was. Yet, she had been the one supporting Baby Gabriel and trying to give him a better future. She wanted Jack and Tammi Smith to adopt him. She wanted McQueary to take a paternity test, (see KPHO video) because he might not be the father. Then, McQueary filed for full custody of Baby Gabriel with the condition that Johnson would have no visitation rights.

Johnson has not always told the truth. According to the KPHO video that shows McQueary under oath, neither has McQueary. In the case of Johnson, who was described as emotionally disturbed in a police report (which I have in my possession), she may believe she has valid reasons for not disclosing where Gabriel is.

sorry to keep posting, but i wonder how Logan was legally able to clear out Elizabeth's things from the trailer. Are they common-law married? That would be the only legal way. Too bad everyone can't afford a dreamteam like the one Casey Anthony gets. But then again, not everyone is facing the death penalty.

Great article, & I wonder where the writer of this article found all this information. Did he speak w/ the landlord? It sounds like alot of personal information that only someone close to Elizabeth would know. If this information can be verified, it should be passed to Elizabeth's attorney. But then again, she has a public defender/pretender, so whether it would do any good, is yet to be seen.

I agree w/everyone here, this is a great article. Several pages of detail, instead of the usual 1 paragraph of media hype. This article touches on things my heart had wondered about a young mother struggling. That's not to say I'm against the father. I just hope everything gets worked out, for the baby's sake.

Another bombshell! Thank you for keeping us updated, and for your giving all sides. Why would a mother give up her freedom and risk more jail, and possibly prison? To save her baby. She must be suffering, for the loss of her child - possibly forever. She's just a child, herself. Who amoung us walks in whidsom, at all times? Logan must be suffering greatly, for the loss of the child he seems to believe is his. My brother's wife had an affair with another man, and bragged about it. But my brother held that baby in his heart as his own, whether the baby was or not ~ and stood by his baby. I admired him tremendously for that. So, so sad, for Gabe and the parents. Let's all withold judgement, in light that we don't know all the facts. Let's all continue to send our sincere prayers, Light and Love to all three, for their protection from harm, for guidance, wisdom. Let's claim their footsteps to be guided for their deliverance into freedom, restoration, happiness and peace. Send
