Logan McQueary Will Search for Missing Baby Gabriel Johnson

TEMPE, Ariz. Logan Scott McQueary, 25, met with Tempe investigators on Monday January 26, 2010 in regard to the disappearance of his son, Gabriel Scott Johnson, age eight months. He handed over 'all recorded conversations and text messages' that he had with ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Johnson, Baby Gabriel's mother, and the recorded conversations and text messages that he had with 'persons of interest' Jack and Tammi Smith, who had once hoped to adopt Baby Gabriel. McQueary said police are building a stronger case of Conspiracy to Commit Custodial Interference- not just against Johnson, who has already been thus charged, but also against Tammi Smith. McQueary joins the search. McQueary will follow the kidnapping trail that Johnson took with their son, Baby Gabriel, from Tempe Arizona in her grandfather's Oldsmobile all the way to San Antonio Texas where Johnson made a deliberate stop, booking into a hotel for the week of December 20th, 2009. The Tempe police have analyzed the GPS device that Johnson used to guide her journey. McQueary will take the same route.

The driving distance between Tempe and San Antonio is 978 miles. Most of the fifteen-hour trip would have been along the I-10E. McQueary believes that Johnson would not have done the drive in one long haul but instead would have stopped overnight in a hotel. He plans to stop at hotels along the way and search out people who may have seen Johnson and Baby Gabriel, who was last seen with his mother in San Antonio on December 26.

Tempe Arizona police are working around the clock on two investigations regarding Baby Gabriel- one on the assumption that he is dead, the other on the assumption that he is alive. In addition to analyzing Johnson's GPS device to re-trace her movements, police have examined computers that Johnson used to log onto her MySpace account during her kidnapping venture. She last logged onto MySpace on December 30, the day she was arrested for custodial interference. Her other charges are conspiracy to commit custodial interference, child abuse, and kidnapping. Johnson pleaded 'not guilty' to those charges yesterday.
