The local newspaper is the Logan Daily News. You can purchase a newspaper for fifty cents, or get a cheap subscription. The paper is normally about twelve pages in length. Mostly you will find news from Columbus, or national news. There is not much going on in Logan. This paper is not a helpful tool, and it is much more cost effective to read the daily news online, as to purchasing the paper.
Logan has a police station and a sheriffs department as well as a 911 center. Logan is growing, and getting in touch with technology. There is basically no crime to speak of. Logan is not the type of place where criminals are running rampid. The people who are in a position to cover up their dirty deeds commit by far the worst crimes. Logan does not experience many murders, maybe one a decade. The most famous cases include the horror in the 1980's. The Dale Johnson case. He was accused of murdering his stepdaughter and her boyfriend and scattering their bodies in a field behind Burger King. Also in the 1990's a young man named Doug Six was murdered in cold blood. In both cases no punishment was extended to the persons responsible.
Logan is a quiet city, and appeals to retirees and young families. Logan is a beautiful city that belongs in a storybook. Dogwood trees bloom along Main Street in the spring. It is picturesque. Logan is a part of the Logan Hocking School District, and offers a great educational experience to students. In nearby Nelsonville Ohio you will find Hocking College.
Logan is a part of the Hocking Hills region, and the majority of employment opportunities involves the tourists, and cabin rentals. Logan is an affordable place to live, with the average rent price around five hundred dollars per month.
