Logic is Illogical

Melissa Lawson
Logic is illogical,
When the heart comes into play.
Relevance is irrelevant,
When emotions have their say.
The mind tries to analyze
All that's going on inside.
The heart laughs at it, for it knows
All circuits now are fried.

Thinking does no good,
When you try to figure out
What the heart is up to,
What it's all about.
The heart has its own agenda,
The mind can't comprehend.
Anything the heart does,
It'll do it on a whim.

Logic cannot touch
Affairs of the heart.
Analysis is irrelevant-
Love isn't on any chart.
How do you figure out emotion?
It lives by its own law.
It sees beauty and perfection,
When the mind sees every flaw.

I've tried to figure out
Why I can't let you go.
I've analyzed it all,
Tried to not let feelings show.
It's not even logical,
For me to wait or stay.
But logic is illogical,
When love wants its own way.

Amen! Good poetry! The heart leads us down the path. :-) Enjoyed.

Yes, Carl, but the illogical part is the heart that loves a man who won't speak up.

My favorite line: "all circuits now are fried". Great poem, well done!

Your words fit the title well. The heart and mind play against each other sometimes causing quite a disruption. You are in control, my friend. You state that strongly here.
