Logitech G13 Already Reviewed

Earlier this month, Logitech, a leading manufacturer of computer peripheral products, was said to be planning the release of a new G-series gaming keyboard, dubbed G13. Designed more as a gameboard than as a gaming keyboard, the G13 seemed to provide all the features that an enthusiast gaming user might require. While Logitech is yet to officially unveil the product, it seems that the very first review of the gameboard has already surfaced on the Internet.

Logitech is clearly no stranger to creating gaming-related products, as the company can pride itself with an entire range of peripherals that are specifically designed to boost the experience of a gaming user. The G13 is just another confirmation of Logitech's experience in designing gaming peripherals.

The gameboard comes with no less than 22 G-labeled keys, to which the company added two more that have been placed near the small joystick, in the right part of the keyboard, which can't be used by left-handed users. Aside from the 22 keys, the G13 also boasts three gaming modes, which can be selected by means of the buttons placed just above the keys. Using the three gaming modes will present users with a total of 87 programmable keys, probably just enough to handle most of the games they might have.

One uniquely interesting feature that Logitech has brought with the new G13 is the possibility of customizing the color. Apparently, users won't actually be able to choose the color of the keys of the keyboard, but only to customize a color they want from a color swatch. As it was to be expected, the LCD on the new G13 is compatible with that of the earlier released G15 keyboard, meaning that users will be able to enjoy the built-in support for games such as World of Warcraft and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

The software of the keyboard is pretty intuitive, so it should allow users to easily customize their favorite binds and keyboard configurations. The guys over at ExtremeTech, who were lucky enough to test the gamepad, said that the G13 had "a lot of wow factor and [wa]s just pretty fun to work with." Despite no official word from Logitech, the G13 is expected to drop with a price tag of $79.99.
