To begin, when you first open the box, you'll find two satellites (the main speakers), the remote, and the subwoofer. You will also find the game adapter, so you can hook up the speakers to your game console or DVD player. Setting everything up couldn't be easier. The subwoofer is where the two satellites and the wired remote plug into, and from there they plug into your PC (or other device) and of course an outlet. The whole setup process should take less than a couple of minutes.
The subwoofer is an 8 inch sub, and is fairly large. My only complaint about setting them up is moving the sub. The whole package weighs about 37 pounds, and of course the subwoofer accounts for most of that weight. I originally had these speakers hooked up to my Playstation 2, then decided to move them upstairs for my computer. It was a little difficult carrying the subwoofer up a flight of stairs. If you have back problems or are not good with heavy objects, it might be hard to move these.
The wired remote, I thought, deserved its own paragraph. My only complaint about it is that it is not wireless. Even so, that is not a big deal, and I'm not going to base these speakers entirely on that little issue. It has the controls for volume, bass, power on and off, and it also has a headphone jack, so, if you choose, you won't be disturbing anyone with the insane volume levels. It really is a nice remote, and I like the look of it. It definitely fits the speaker set well.
Continuous power of the entire system is 200 watts, with each satellite having 40 watts RMS and the subwoofer having 120 watts RMS. These numbers are great for a set of computer speakers. They really can get loud, and so far I have not turned the volume up past one-third of the way. The sound quality of them is amazing! For the price (about $150, but I have seen lower and higher) you simply cannot get a better set of speakers. Many people complain about no mid-ranges, but I do not think so. Music sounds great on these, and watching movies with a lot of action scenes is even cooler.
Overall, if you're looking for a great and powerful set of 2.1 speakers for your computer, or even your video game console, look no further. The Logitech Z-2300 is what you want. An excellent pair of speakers for music and movie lovers alike.

Nice review, thanks for sharing the info.
I'll take one. Then again, I like wireless, and this is rapidly becoming a wire-free world... I wonder why they decided to go that way? Perhaps I'll wait for the Sequel.
