Updating the Lollapalooza 2010 Lineup as Bands Are Announced

Lollapalooza 2010 takes place in Grant Park in Chicago on August 6-8. The lineup for the three-day festival has now been announced, and the lineup is a great one.

2010 Lollapalooza lineup: Information source

Some of the bands were leaked before the official announcement by Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune, who often announces part of the Lollapalooza lineup before the festival officially confirms anything. Kot has sources within the festival and is rarely wrong about this sort of thing.

Lollapalooza.com has now posted the first wave of confirmed bands for the 2010 Lollapalooza lineup. Expect numerous additional acts to be announced between now and August.

Earlybird 2010 Lollapalooza tickets went on sale on March 30 at a cost of $190. Regular-priced three-day passes (expected to cost more than $200) will go on sale soon.

The festival also sells single-day tickets. In past years, single-day passes did not sell out until just before the festival, but that will probably change this year if Lady Gaga does indeed play Lollapalooza 2010. When she performed in Chicago in January, tickets were being scalped for upwards of $150.

The possibility of getting to see Gaga (and 100 other bands) for just $50 more is likely to make tickets go fast. Also, the Pitchfork Festival in Chicago in July sold out in record time this year, despite a price increase.

Festivals are selling well all across the country, so get your tickets early if you want to go.

I have heard of 3 or 4 of the acts :) Always wanted to go to a concert in Grant Park. Went to Straitfest in the old Soldier Field twice, that was great.
