There are some couples that can make a long distance relationship work however they are unusual. Usually a relationship requires close proximity to develop and allow two people to feel loved. You need to spend plenty of time together and get to know the other person. It is very difficult to do when the two live far away from one another. Many people date within a five mile radius from their home and find that to be much more comfortable for them.

Having a long distance relationship is very difficult. Usually the only communication is by phone or email. This can be very trying on the two people as there are not many ways that they can see each other in person. Communicating everyday with phones and emails does not take the place of seeing each other in person. It becomes too difficult to keep the romance alive. There are people that can accomplish this, but it is very hard to do. Make sure that you can handle the distance when you are in a long distance relationship because there will be lots of times that you won't be able to see each other at all.

Those that survive long distance relationships have usually known each other a long time and have spent plenty of time in each other's physical presence before they are separated. They already have something that they want to hold onto in the relationship. They make it work. It is still very difficult to make it a success, but in these cases it is much more plausible.

One of the biggest problems in long distance relationships is that one or both partners begins to feel unloved. They get suspicious and they feel neglected.

For long distance love affairs you need a strong commitment based on love or it probably will not work. If you find yourself facing a relationship like this, you might want to look elsewhere for what you need, rather than suffer through a lot of lonely days and nights. Find someone close to you so that you can enjoy a blissful relationship.

One sure reason that relationships break down is from lack of communication. If you can't communicate with a person it will not work at all. Make sure that you are with someone that you can talk to about anything and this will help if you are near or far. You surely don't want to waste your time with someone that doesn't care about your feelings and cannot be attentive.

Dating long distance is possible, but difficult. If you don't want that type of relationship, you are best to avoid it all together. You will want to find someone else as soon as possible and see if you can make it work with them.
