Staring at the sunrise
Driving on the road again
A freezing winter morning
Starts my day
Driving on the road again
A freezing winter morning
Starts my day
I tried to read your Word
But I couldn't feel a thing
When I talk to you
You feel so far away
Sometimes I feel like crying
Like I'm sleeping or I'm dying
Like a barren tree
That's trapped beneath the snow
It's a long long winter
And I'm reaching out to you
It's a long long winter
And the sun is shining through
Summer has gone a long time ago
And I thought it was gone for good
But springtime is coming
Springtime is coming

Post a CommentWhat a beautiful poem. I've just come through about 10 years where God seemed so distant...so I know what that feels like. Valleys can be very, very long sometimes and it's hard to see the other side. Springtime came this fall for me with a sudden "thaw." I hope your springtime comes soon.
(If you'ld like to read some other poems on this topic, I collected some I found early on in that 10 years here: http://poetry.windhavenweb.com/themes/0103.html
Could I add this poem there? You can write me at ecarian at yahoo dot com
