"Long Lost Love"

"Long Lost Love"

You were the girl next door

The one in the yellow house

with light blue trim

I would watch as

you would play in

your backyard

Laughing with such joy

suchexcitement

Your life was brand new

You had so much to look

forward to

so much to anticipate

As you waited for the school bus

I saw your blonde hair

A reflection in my bedroom

window

Taken aback by your beauty

I just knew with my all of my heart that

You would become my long lost love

I never quite had the courage

to ask for your love

even though I had my heart in my

hands

Asking you to love me

would be quite the task

Still, I knew, you'd be

my long lost love

One rainy day

as you were walking to

your class

drenched by the rain

I offered you my hand

and a softer place to land

As the rain trickled upon my

umbrella we stood there together

as one.

Somehow, I knew I had won

That memory remains in my mind forever

I have so many vivid memories

Our long walks on the beach

Sinking our toes in the sand

Walking hand in hand

I remember the night

We lay on our blankets

Peacefully watching as

the fireflies flitted across

the sky

Illuminating the night sky in such

a way

It made my heart glow

One would now realize that you were

the one

My only.

I felt like you and I were the only ones in

this world

I felt so comfortable with you

I could express my self in ways

never heard of before

It was all because of you.

One morning, I woke with

a sinking feeling

in the pit of my stomach

I looked to my left and found

a note which read

I found someone else

I then felt a feeling I'd

never felt

One of no remorse

I long for what we once had

We fit together

as though we

were in perfect symmetry.

Our hearts in perfectcondition

Bleeding and beating together

Two souls in one body.

This, I pose to you, my long lost love,

How could you do this to me?
